Recent work

Three jobs that are not off the shelf.

A yurt, a staircase and a country kitchen. Nobody hands you a standard fitting schedule for any of these. You work it out with the owner, then you make it look like it was always meant to be there.

Interior of a finished timber yurt with a circular skylight and warm uplights on the lattice walls

The yurt

Uplights set into the wall posts so the cedar roof ribs catch the light all the way to the crown wheel.

Timber staircase with a continuous LED strip running under the stringer and black steel balusters

The staircase

One unbroken LED run tucked under the stringer. No visible fitting, no hot spots, just a clean line of light down the flight.

Country kitchen with recycled brick feature wall, round window and two woven rattan pendant lights over a stone island

The kitchen

Two woven pendants centred on a stone island, wired so the brick wall and the round window stay the thing you notice first.

About

Knowledge, customised solutions, pride and commitment.

That is how Todd Evans describes the business himself, and after twenty plus years it is a fair summary. Todd Evans Electrical is a one man operation based in Stroud, covering the small localities up and down the Karuah valley where most trades will not bother driving.

The work splits three ways: new builds, renovations, and rural. A second dwelling wired start to finish for a family Todd has worked with for ten years. A house rewired around what the owners actually wanted, not what was easiest. A shed, a pump, a run of yard lights on a property a long way from the nearest pole.

What comes up again and again in the reviews is not the price or the speed. It is that he turns up when he says he will, and that when somebody asks for something awkward the answer tends to be "yes, we can do that".

Licensed, and happy to show it. Every circuit gets tested and certified before it goes live, on a shed the same as on a house.

What I do

Residential, commercial and everything past the last cattle grid.

A wide range of electrical services: residential and commercial installations, repairs, renovation and maintenance. If it needs a licensed sparky, it is on this list somewhere.

New builds

Full electrical from first fix to handover. Slab to switch on, on rural blocks and in town, working to the plans and to the builder's program.

Renovations

Rewiring and extending existing homes, bringing old circuits up to scratch and adding the points and lighting the new layout actually needs.

Rural and farm work

Sheds, pumps, outbuildings and farm buildings. Long runs, dust, damp and distance are normal here, not an exception.

Indoor and outdoor lighting

Feature lighting, strip lighting, pendants, floods and yard lighting. The part of a job people actually look at every day.

Electrical wiring

New circuits, sub-circuits, ground wire installation and tidy cable runs that the next sparky can follow without guessing.

Outlets and switches

Extra powerpoints where you actually want them, switch relocations, fans and data points added to rooms that were built without enough.

Light fixture installation

Supplied fittings installed properly, from a single replacement to a full house of new fittings and a chandelier in a shopfront.

Repairs and maintenance

Faults chased down, fuses changed, tired gear replaced, and scheduled maintenance so the same thing does not keep tripping.

Service ute with its canopy open parked inside a long poultry shed, rows of feeder pans overhead

Rural

The ute goes where the job is.

Poultry sheds, machinery sheds, pump lines, yard lighting and outbuildings half a paddock from the meter box. Rural work is its own trade: longer runs, harder conditions, and nobody nearby to lend you the part you forgot. It is a third of what this business does, and it is on the list of things Todd Evans Electrical says it does because it is genuinely a specialty, not an afterthought.

Todd Evans Electrical are the 'go to' for solution focussed services. Todd has been able to problem solve and provide us with lighting solutions that other electricians have not been able to. Every difficult request we have made to him has been met with "Yes, we can do that. What do you think of.....", and Voila! We have discreet, effective, adjustable lighting. Additionally, he has addressed all of our everyday needs including powerpoints, ceiling fans and heating/cooling. We highly recommend Todd Evans Elecrical.

We have had the pleasure of working with Todd on numerous projects over the last ten years. Our last project was a second dwelling new build. Todd provided use with all electrical work for the build from start to finish. His attention to detail and knowledge is exceptional. We would have no hesitation in recommending Todd for any Electrical work.

I can't recommend Todd highly enough. Always prompt, professional, and reliable, he consistently delivers high-quality work with great attention to detail. Communication is clear and easy, and they take the time to make sure everything is done right. It's such a relief to have someone you can trust to show up when they say they will and get the job done efficiently. A well-deserved 5 stars!
